You are doing so much better than you think!

Do you ever get the feeling that sometimes things don’t go the way you wanted them to go? Or that you are not where you wanted or hoped you would be? And do you too then go into beating yourself up. Telling yourself that you have not been doing what you should have been doing or not working hard enough? And in this day and age, where everybody is so quick to post all their amazing accomplishments and joys, falling into that comparison trap is so easy. Which will lead to even more of the self judgement and beating yourself up and not acknowledging yourself for who you actually are.

Let me tell you something:

First of all, you are not alone in this. We all experience this to some extent. No matter where you are in life or who you are. I love this quote I read in a book once by Terence: “Homo sum humani nihil a me alienum puto – I am human, and I think nothing human (is) alien to me”. Which I freely translate to as no matter what it is that you are going through, somewhere someone is going through or has been through something similar. You are not alone in this.

Secondly, you need to know that you are doing the very best you can, with what you have and know in this very moment. Something I heard Maya Angelou say in an interview once: “When you know better you do better”. So if you could have, you would have. And even if you have that awareness of knowing things could be different, you could be different, you still do not need to beat yourself up about it. Sitting with that acknowledgment, that awareness, deepening it and growing it is what will move you forward to change that will actually benefit you and last.

I don’t know about you, but I rather move in love than in negativity. And this is something that I have learned for myself. How I operate best and get the best results that last the longest.

So, what I basically wanted to say to you is, love yourself deeply, no matter where you are in your journey. Trust that you are doing the very best that you can in any given moment. Surrender to the knowing that you naturally have and act from a place of love.

As I was acknowledging and celebrating myself, I wanted to share this with you so you can do it too.
